Description:
| Aims: To provide students with a knowledge and understanding of transactions and interrelationship between people and their physical setting. Specifically, it will explore how human cognition, perceptions, cultures, attitudes, emotional needs and behaviour both affect and are affected by their environment and social context.
Learning Outcomes: On completion of the unit the student should be able to:
* Devise facilitative techniques for encouraging environmentally sustainable behaviour, creativity and social synergy;
* Apply psychological theories to current environmental issues and practices;
* Understand and discuss the context-dependence of human perceptions, attitudes and behaviour;
* Devise solutions to alleviate sources of human conflict, fear and stress in diverse rural and urban environmental contexts.

* Influence of spatial and temporal scale on relationship between environment and behaviour
