Description:
| Aims: To introduce students to the basic engineering experimentation skills required in the chemical engineering industries, and to enhance students' abilities to write technical reports and to interpret technical information.
Learning Outcomes: After successfully completing this unit students should be able to:
* analyse experimental data and conduct basic error analysis;
* communicate experimental results in written form;
* make correct use of units;
* carry out simple calculations for chemical engineering problems; and
* use a variety of different sources (internet, library etc.) to retrieve information.
Skills: Reporting skills and teamwork; use of log books; data management.
Content: A total of 10 laboratory and data analysis exercises relating to chemical engineering.
