Click here for further information Description: This unit is only available to students on the BSc Politics with Economics and the BSc Politics with International Relations.
Aims:
To offer students the opportunity to broaden their academic and practical skills through study at an overseas partner institution.

Learning Outcomes:
Students who complete a study year abroad will have:
* gained additional academic insights from exposure to different academic traditions and national perspectives on the world today;
* gained confidence in their own abilities and developed practical and intercultural competencies from living and studying in a culture different to that of the UK;
* where the medium of instruction is not English, developed advanced language skills.

Skills:
Skills in critical analysis, conceptual thinking, exercise of independent judgement, reasoned argument, and the planning/conduct/reporting of non-quantitative research are developed in this year, along with practical and intercultural competencies relating to life and study abroad.

Content:
An agreed programme of study approved by the relevant ESML Year Abroad Officer. Students will be required to submit interim and final reports on their experience and transcripts of marks awarded by their host institution.
