Aims & Learning Objectives:
Aims:
To teach the methods of analysis appropriate to simple and multiple regression models and to common types of survey and experimental design. The course will concentrate on applications in the management area.
Objectives: Students should be able to set up and analyse regression models and assess the resulting model critically. They should understand the principles involved in experimental design and be able to apply the methods of analysis of variance.

Content:
One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA): comparisons of group means. Simple and multiple regression: estimation of model parameters, tests, confidence and prediction intervals, residual and diagnostic plots. Two-way ANOVA: Two-way classification model, main effects and interactions. Experimental Design: Randomisation, blocking, factorial designs. Analysis using the minitab package.
