Description:
| Aims: The aim of this unit is to allow the student to undertake a laboratory based research project, and to develop practical research skills, including critical and presentational skills.
Learning Outcomes: At the end of the unit the student will be able to:
1. demonstrate an ability to generate original data;
2. critically analyse that data;
3. present the data and conclusions in the format of a research grant application;
4. defend their original work in an oral examination.

Content: Students will be offered a choice of research project from a wide range of topics in pharmacology. The written report will take the form of a research grant proposal, using a form based on that provided by the Wellcome Trust.
