| Description:
| Aims: This unit aims to provide learners with a broad overview of the management of minor ailments in primary care and an understanding of the contribution that the pharmacist can make in responding to patients' symptoms. Learning Outcomes: By the end of the unit the student will be able to: 1. Analyse the current public policy in the management of minor illnesses (knowledge and understanding). 2. Evaluate the routes of access to OTC medicines (knowledge and understanding, professional practical skill). 3. Critically evaluate the role of the pharmacist and medicines counter assistant in the OTC supply process(intellectual skill)). 4. Reflect on their own practice in this therapeutic are and identify areas for improvement (personal transferable skill).
