Anonymity
The Unit Evaluation system is designed to provide an opportunity for students to comment on their experience of a specific unit within their programme of study.
The data obtained from unit evaluation questionnaires will be used for research purposes to identify the areas of unit with which students are satisfied and dissatisfied. The intention is that the academic staff together with the student representatives on the Staff Student Liaison Committee will act together to improve areas of the unit identified by students as in need of improvement and or enhancement.
Any analysis and reporting of the results will be of aggregated data only. No data will be published that can identify individuals. All data is stored anonymously and securely, in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
The analysis and reporting will be classified on the basis of the broad characteristics provided by students to SAMIS when registering with the University of Bath.
Responding to the questionnaire constitutes informed consent to allow the data you have provided to be used for these research purposes only.
The results of the every unit evaluation will be acted upon to improve that unit for the benefit of future students at the University of Bath.
If you have any questions or comments about anonymity and Data Protection, please email Shaun McGall, Learning and Teaching Development Officer, ext 3848.
