Placement learning

60% of our students take up a work or study placements, gaining valuable experience in the workplace or of different cultures.

Students undertake a placement as part of their degree programme and we therefore have a responsibility to evaluate and monitor provision at placement providers and ensure that students are supported appropriately before, during and after their placement.

You can find complete information on processes for placements in QA6 Placement Learning and Study Abroad.   QA6 also covers arrangements for work-based learning on foundation degrees and the process for ongoing support of exchange students.  QA37 sets out the requirements for evaluating and setting up a formal exchange scheme between the University and an overseas institution.

The Placement Tutors Forum provides a regular opportunity for placement tutors and officers to share experiences and good practice.  You can also find information and resources on the Placement web pages.
