Information for Former Students

Please note you will need to enclose a copy of photo ID (e.g. driving licence or passport) for all of the following requests.

Verification Letters

If you require a verification letter confirming your study dates and award you will need to write to us using the contact details above. You will need to include your full name, date of birth, course, year of graduation and the number of copies required. We can send these letters either as PDF attachments and/or hard copies in the post. Please include how/where you wish your letter to be sent.

Endorsed/Certified Copy of Certificate Request

If you require an endorsed/certified copy of certificate you will need to send us a copy of your certificate first to certify. We will then verify and certify this and post/email it to the address that you provide. 

Duplicate Certificate Request

The University will only produce a duplicate certificate if the original has been lost/stolen or destroyed. There is currently no charge for this service but there is a limit of one duplicate per award.

To comply with Data Protection Act we will need a signed letter to confirm what has happened to the original and to request a duplicate. The letter can be posted or scanned and emailed. The letter must contain the following:

Your request will then be processed and sent to the Print Unit to be produced (please note that their current turnaround time is approx. one month). If, in the short term, you would like us to produce a verification letter for you (which contains all the details that would be on your certificate), please make a note in your letter and we can produce one for you within 5 working days.
