The staff and student travel community were supported in getting themselves ready for a summer of cycle commuting with the help of a Dr Bike event with Julian House Bike Workshop. The mechanics were kept busy with a steady stream of bikes to be seen for servicing, basic repairs and maintenance throughout the day.

Avon and Somerset Neighbourhood Police attended and offered free bike marking as a way for individuals to improve the security of their bike.

Staff members and postgraduate students are able to hire an e-bike for free for up to two weeks through Take Charge Bikes. To highlight this great scheme Take Charge Bikes were in attendance on the day giving anyone who wished an opportunity to try out a standard or cargo e-bike.

A mass staff cycle ride to campus was arranged from Bristol, with participants enjoying the opportunity to ride in company and some even trying the route out for the first time. On arrival at campus, they were able to join with other cyclists and walkers for a community active travel breakfast, kindly provided by Campus Services.

For anyone that would like to join one of these rides, you can join the Riding in & out Teams Group where you will see multiple channels for each location.
