The University of Bath is ranked the UK’s 8th best university and the best in the south west in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025.
The news follows recent top 10 rankings in both the Daily Mail and Guardian University rankings for 2025, and alongside another 8th place ranking in the Complete University guide 2025 means Bath is in the top 10 across all major UK university rankings in 2025.
The Times and Sunday Times guide placed Bath 6th in the UK for student experience, and 7th for graduate prospects, highlighting it as a supportive international community to study while helping students succeed in their careers. The University was also in the top 10 institutions for first and 2:1 degrees.
Bath also placed very highly in several individual subject rankings, including:
- Accounting and finance – 7th
- Aeronautical and manufacturing engineering – 6th
- Architecture – 5th
- Biological sciences – =7th
- Business, management and marketing – 3rd
- Chemical engineering – 4th
- Chemistry – 9th
- Civil engineering – =4th
- Computer science – 9th
- Criminology – 5th
- Mathematics – =7th
- Mechanical engineering – 6th
- Natural sciences – 8th
- Pharmacy and pharmacology – 9th
- Psychology – 5th
- Social work – =8th
- Sports science – 2nd
Bath is also named runner up for the Sports University of the Year 2025.
The University has now maintained a top 10 position in the overall Times guide league table for a decade.
