The Committee was impressed by the exceptional breadth, consistency, and impact of Penn’s achievements across their degree, including outstanding academic performance with sustained first-class results and top ranking within their cohort. They particularly commended Penn’s influential contribution to the academic community through sustained leadership as an Academic and Faculty Representative, Peer Mentor, and Senior PAL Leader, alongside their role in contributing to Faculty committees and organising hackathons and cross-institutional initiatives involving external partners.

Penn’s commitment to supporting others and enhancing the student experience over a four-year period was further evidenced through their extensive engagement with the Students’ Union, departmental working groups, open days, and initiatives such as the Bath Award. This impact has been formally recognised through multiple Education Awards, including the Academic Rep Award, Best Academic Rep Impact Award, Outstanding Contribution to Faculty Representation Award, and two Outstanding Contribution to Education at Bath Awards.

Penn was seen to exemplify the very highest standards of academic excellence, leadership, and service, making an exceptional and lasting contribution to the University.
