The University is seeking expressions of interest from staff to join the People and Culture Board, a new body established as part of the governance changes introduced for 2026/27. Chaired by the Director of Human Resources, the Board provides strategic oversight and advice on people, culture and organisational development matters. Colleagues can find more information about the Board in the draft terms of reference and membership.

Applications are invited for:

  • One member of Education & Research staff

  • One member of Professional Services staff

Members will be appointed by the Chair of the Board for an initial term of three years.

The Board meets four times per year, with meetings lasting approximately two hours. Members should also allow time to read papers and prepare for meetings. Staff considering applying should discuss the commitment with their line manager before submitting an expression of interest.

Staff interested in serving on the Board are invited to submit a brief statement (maximum 250 words) outlining their interest in the role and the perspective they would bring.

Expressions of interest should be sent to governance@bath.ac.uk by 5pm on Friday 30 October 2026.

Further information on the University's governance changes is available at Governance, made clearer: what's changing for 2026/27.
