Increase your cyber security awareness

Cyber Security Awareness month (every October) is a great opportunity to remind yourself of the best practices you can follow to reduce the risk of becoming a victim of cyber crime.

As a member of staff you’ll be aware of University essentials from the mandatory Cyber Security Awareness course, but you can also access guidance on key topics relevant for your work, personal, and private lives, such as social media safety, phishing defences, and secure hybrid and remote working, through our cyber spotlight series with MetaCompliance.

There are straightforward, well-established steps we can all take to improve our cybersecurity – what could you start to do this month and beyond that will help you stay alert, work smart, and stay safe?

A spotlight on password defences - the latest MetaCompliance course release

As passwords are the first line of defence against cyber threats across our work and our personal and private lives, this month brings a double instalment of the cyber spotlight series – a focus on password defences and password managers – to our MetaCompliance platform.

Keep an eye out for the email from no-reply@metacompliance.com with the subject line starting “Cyber spotlight series” and the course title.

As usual, you’ll need to log in with your University username and password to access the course.
