Dear colleagues,
Thank you to everyone involved in last Saturday’s successful, in-person undergraduate Open Day.
The day saw blue skies over campus, and our staff and student ambassadors welcomed thousands of visitors and prospective students to the University.
We are so grateful to everyone involved in making our October Open Day such a success. These events are absolutely critical to our ability to attract talented students with real potential. You helped to show Bath at its best.
Colleagues in the Events team and Security did a fantastic job navigating the event’s transport and logistics challenges. We had to reduce student bookings compared with October 2025, given the newly resurfaced playing fields and fewer available car parking spaces. And the team continued to implement a mini Park & Ride at the Sulis Club facilities, which is working well. It is really positive that we were able to welcome around 10,664 visitors overall.
Whether you were preparing the campus in the early hours, giving a talk, leading a tour, staffing a stand in the Information Fair, managing queues or welcoming and helping visitors to campus, I would like to thank you for all you have done. Your help and support are sincerely appreciated and the way people showed up exemplifies the fantastic community we have at Bath.
A great deal of work is involved in planning and ensuring these events run smoothly and I am grateful to colleagues in Campus Services, Campus Infrastructure, Facilities Services, ResLife, Security, Hospitality, Retail, staff volunteers and our many student ambassadors – it really is a team effort. Particular thanks are due to the Events team in Marketing, Communications & External Affairs, who work so hard to co-ordinate these days.
If you have any feedback about the Open Days, we would be really pleased to hear from you, please email Lucy Perry on lvp27@bath.ac.uk.
With thanks and best wishes,
Momna
