The Covid-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact around the world. Unfortunately this impact is particularly severe in several countries including India and Brazil at the present time and we are thinking of all those communities who have been affected by this awful disease.

The University of Bath community has many students, staff, alumni and partners from India and Brazil or who have family there. We are thinking of them and want to support them in the best way possible. For any student or member of staff who needs support, help is available.

Students can contact their personal tutor for advice. In addition, our Student Services team has already been supporting students from India, and stand ready to help any other students who may need it, with a range of support options via 01225 383838 or studentservices@bath.ac.uk. Help is also available from the SU (students’ union) Advice Centre at suadvice@bath.ac.uk

Staff members can speak to their line managers, or free and confidential support is available from the Employee Assistance Programme for all staff.

We know that many in our community would like to do what they can to help. If you would like to support relief efforts, there are many organisations working to tackle Covid-19. Two options include the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), or Medicins Sans Frontieres who have an appeal for their work in a number of countries.
