Peter has made a very important contribution to the University throughout the almost nineteen years of service with us as a member of staff, and prior to that as a student, both undergraduate and postgraduate. He will be greatly missed by his colleagues and students across the University.
Peter’s work as a Lecturer has been very important both to the experience and education of our students across Life Sciences, and to the development of important research, where Peter worked very closely and collaboratively with colleagues across his department. Peter's research focussed on the use of chemistry to reduce the harms of drugs and to translate findings from our laboratories to clinical practice. He was an integral and valued member of the Harm Reduction community at the University of Bath and was Clinical Director of AIM (the Addiction and Mental Health Group) and a member of the Mental Health Research Group.
Our thoughts are with Peter’s family and friends at this very difficult time.
The funeral will be held at 11am on Thursday 25 September at St Basils Church, in Widnes (where Peter went to Primary school) followed by the Crematorium at 12pm and Widnes Golf Club after. All are welcome to share in a celebration of Peter's life. Please could you confirm to the Life Sciences Administrative team on Life Science Admin email if you are planning to attend the funeral, so that we can make the family aware of the number attending.
