The University is saddened to learn of the death of Simon Hockenhull, Electronics and Electrical Laboratory Technician in the Dept of Electronic and Electrical Engineering.
Simon passed away on 22 November after a period of extended illness.
Simon joined Bath in 2016 after a long career in electronics repair and engineering, most recently having spent 25 years working for British Telecommunications.
Dr Ben Metcalfe, Head of Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, said: “Simon was a good friend to many at Bath and played a pivotal role in supporting both staff and students, especially our competition teams. He will be much missed.”
Simon’s family have shared that Simon’s funeral will be held on Tuesday 17 December at 2pm at the Valley Chapel, Haycombe Cemetery and Crematorium, BA2 2RQ. There will be a subsequent wake at 3:30 PM at the Boathouse, BA1 3NB.
