The University's Campus Services team has won the Allergy Management Award at this year's U Dine awards.

The U Dine Awards recognise excellence and innovation in the University hospitality sector. The annual awards took place at the University of Warwick on 5 June 2025.

The University received two nominations:

  • Allergy management - recognising our innovative and inclusive allergy management plan
  • On-trend food award - for the Oishii Japanese-themed menu in Fountain Canteen

The current allergy procedure was developed due to the increasing number of students with food allergies on campus.

Campus Services adopted a different approach to allergen control, with strict food safety procedures, but also an inclusive approach.

Our dedicated Food Safety Compliance Manager ensures that the University's procedures are up to date and regularly reviewed. This has resulted in a positive impact on allergen control and increased awareness.

"It's wonderful to be recognised for all our hard work around allergy management," says Kevin McCormick, Head of Campus Services Commercial Operations. "We're aware that for some students with allergies, living away from home for the first time can be challenging. We want to make sure all our customers feel confident and safe when making food choices in our outlets. We do our very best to make them aware of how we manage allergies and to let them know that we are always here to help."
