International Summer School

A free, online programme for students looking to apply for undergraduate degree courses starting in September 2025. Applications have now closed.

What is the International Summer School?

The International Summer School is a virtual one-week programme taking place from Monday 5th August to Friday 9th August 2024 with the aim of providing an insight into studying and student life at the University of Bath.


The International Summer School is a free, online programme (via Microsoft Teams) focusing on various course areas offered at the University, consisting of a programme of academic activities, general sessions on applying to and studying in the UK and having contact with current students at the University. You will also be able to engage with your peers looking to studying a similar course to you.

Successful completion of the programme will give access to a guaranteed conditional offer subject to conditions (see details below).


Who can apply for the International Summer School?

All international students (as classified by overseas fee status) who will be starting university in September 2025 and who are academically able to study at Bath in their chosen subject.


All students must also be able to show evidence of their English proficiency with an IELTS 5.5 overall or an equivalent school qualification. If you are a UK student, you may be interested in applying for our Step into Bath programme. Guaranteed Conditional Offer

If you complete the International Summer School, including the sessions and activities that are included, you will be guaranteed to receive an offer for a place to study at Bath.


This is based on the following conditions:

  • You will be applying for university in 2025

  • A UCAS application is submitted by the UCAS ‘on time’ deadline for the next entry cycle

  • Complete all sections of the UCAS form including the personal statement for the degree you wish to study at Bath

  • You will be applying to university as an international student (classified by overseas fee status)

Academic criteria:

  • You meet the 'essential' academic entry requirements for your chosen course as stated on our course pages.

  • You apply for an eligible course for the subject stream you undertook as part of the International Summer School (see list above for eligible courses).

Please note, our Pharmacy degree requires completion of a successful interview for an offer, therefore you will be guaranteed an interview rather than a conditional offer.


Application Process

For your application, you will need to provide details of your predicted grades, any English language qualifications and write a small 300 word personal statement on why you want to join this programme.
