Managing with Impact is a comprehensive and practical modular training programme for staff in any job family. It provides an in-depth introduction to the foundation skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to manage others effectively.

The course is suitable for managers early in their management career looking to enhance their skills, or managers with a few years' experience who have not yet had the opportunity for formal development. The programme centres around two, full-training modules and is supported by a number of learning opportunities − such as self-study, reading and viewing, action learning sets and Strengthscope profiling.

To apply for the programme, you'll need to complete the online application form which requires a supporting statement from your manager.

Closing date: Thursday 29 February, online submission before 6pm.

Course commitments

  • Day 1: Thursday 13 June, 9:30am to 4:30pm
  • Action Learning Set One: Tuesday 18 June OR Thursday 20 June 2024, 10am to 12pm
  • Day 2: Thursday 4 July, 9:30am to 4:30pm
  • Action Learning Set Two: Tuesday 16 July OR Thursday 18 July 2024, 10am to 12pm

This programme supports a blended learning approach where pre work is a key requirement. You will be asked to meet a Strengthscope Practitioner for 1:1 debrief meeting (1 hour) during May 2024, date/time aligned between diaries with existing commitments considered.

There will be two groups of Action Learning Sets. Group 1 will meet on Tuesday dates stated above and Group 2 will meet on the Thursday dates. You will be notified which group.
