The Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey for January Starters (PTES Jan) 2026 is an internal survey based on the national survey run by Advance HE that asks postgraduate taught (PGT) students about their university experience.

PTES January has been introduced to provide MSc Finance and MSc Marketing students who were not invited to the original PTES survey with an opportunity to share their views and experiences, as they were not eligible for the national PTES survey that was run earlier this year.

You will be asked about different aspects of university life, including teaching, assessments, support and organisation and management. By giving your honest feedback and what is good and what could be improved, you can help us enhance the university experience at Bath.

The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete. Your responses are confidential, and will remain anonymous when the results are reported later this year.

PTES Jan opens on Monday 13 July and closes at midnight on Friday 14 August 2026. To encourage you to complete the survey, there is a prize draw for Bath students to win 1 x £20 amazon voucher. You will be automatically entered into the prize draw, and we would encourage you to complete the survey by midnight on the closing date.

These can be found on your library card and SAMIS profile, or in an email sent to your university inbox by 'PTES Bath'.
