Staff Recognition Awards

The Staff Recognition Awards recognise the University's Professional Services and Support staff who have demonstrated excellence in their work.

The Staff Recognition Awards are a chance for both staff and students to nominate individual members or teams from our Professional Services and Support teams. The awards recognise those who have shown excellence in their work and contributed to the broader life of the University.

Award categories

The awards are allocated into several categories.


You can nominate individuals and teams for awards in the following categories:

  • Enhancing the Student Experience
  • Community and Inclusion
  • Manager/Leader of the Year
  • Supporting Colleagues
  • Supporting Research
  • Innovative Use of Digital Tools

Category summary:

Enhancing the Student Experience

Nominate individuals or teams who have significantly improved the student experience through exceptional support, innovative programs, or outstanding service. This could include initiatives that enhance academic success, personal development, or overall student well-being.

Community and Inclusion

This award recognises contributions to the University community through collaboration, promoting inclusivity via University events and networks, or advancing green initiatives and environmental best practices. Nominations are welcome from all job families, regardless of the size of the effort. You can nominate individuals or teams who have made a significant impact on the community and inclusivity, whether their contributions are part of their job or go beyond their work responsibilities. This award aims to distinguish those who are doing an outstanding job in supporting the entire community, highlighting efforts that extend beyond their immediate work duties.

Manager/Leader of the Year

Nominate a manager or leader who has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities, inspiring their team, driving positive change, and achieving outstanding results. This individual should be a role model in leadership, showing dedication, vision, and the ability to motivate and support their team.

Supporting Colleagues

Highlight individuals or teams who have gone above and beyond in supporting their colleagues. This could include providing mentorship, offering exceptional assistance, fostering a collaborative work environment, or contributing to the professional development of others.

Supporting Research

Recognise those who have made significant contributions to supporting research activities. This could involve providing exceptional administrative support, facilitating research projects, securing funding, or contributing to the dissemination of research findings.

Innovative Use of Digital Tools

This award recognises a team that has utilized digital tools to enhance processes, improve the student experience, advance research, or drive significant change within the University. Nominate teams that have creatively and effectively implemented new technologies, developed innovative digital solutions, or significantly improved workflows through the use of digital tools.

Award winners

An event will be held to celebrate and award the winners.


There will be a celebratory event and Awards Ceremony where the winners will be presented with their awards and certificates. The date is to be confirmed for 2026.


Process

Nominations process and deadlines.


  • Monday 2 March – Nominations open
  • Monday 23 March – Entries close
  • May and June – Panel meet and those nominated are contacted via email
  • July 2026 – Recognition event and awards ceremony
