| Aims: To develop the knowledge and skills introduced in earlier units in order to build on professional competence in Pharmacy Practice.
Learning Outcomes: After taking this unit, students will be able to:
* demonstrate and apply knowledge of pharmacy law, ethics and practice, clinical pharmacy & therapeutics and aspects of social science to more complex prescriptions and patient problems.
* identify patient and prescription problems and respond with suitable solutions,
* dispense and check medication safely and complete any necessary administrative documentation,
* communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and patients in the role play and practice settings.

Content: Dispensing; clinical pharmacy knowledge, skills and application to case studies; application of pharmacy legislation and ethical dilemma problem solving to cases; responding to symptoms commonly seen in the pharmacy; effective communication role play; clinical pharmacy placements (primary and secondary care). Aseptic dispensing.
