This unit aims to expose students to the perspectives related to the dynamics of the interaction between sport, science and people. It is also designed to inspire creativity and innovation in the coaching process, particularly in relation to the application of social science and sport science research.

Learning Outcomes:
To be able to apply many of the major findings of sport sciences to the art and science of coaching.
To be able to apply many of the major findings of social sciences to the art and science of coaching.
To draw from the broad spectrum of sport science research to critically examine coaching education as a professional practice.
To draw from the broad spectrum of social science research to critically examine coaching education as a professional practice.

Content:
This unit will teach the applications of sport and social science research to the management of teams/groups. It will facilitate the application of various skills (e.g. interpersonal, communication, leadership and technical analysis) to aid both individual and group/team performance.
