| Description:
| Aims: To update pharmacists on the disease and patient monitoring factors that should be considered when prescribing for patients with palliative care needs. Learning Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit the student will be able to: 1. Explain the disease and patient monitoring factors in this therapeutic area (knowledge and understanding, professional practical skill). 2. Critically evaluate the evidence base for the management of patients in this therapeutic area (intellectual skill). 3. Assess the primary and secondary care roles for healthcare professionals/pharmacists in this therapeutic area (professional practical skill). 4. Reflect on their own practice in supporting patients in this area and identify areas for improvement (personal transferable skill). 5. Apply the knowledge gained in this unit to design enhancements to patient facing services and the patient experience (professional practical skill; intellectual skill; knowledge and understanding).
