Description: | Aims: To develop research skills by undertaking an original research project and interacting with other research scientists in an area between computer science and mathematics. Learning Outcomes: A student will be able to: 1. Identify the tasks to be completed in a research project proposal, plan a scheme of work. 2. Undertake a literature search and critically evaluate the contents of this search. 3. Assemble (possibly create) the necessary software tools. 4. Carry out the research to a professional standard, interacting with colleagues and reporting the research. 5. Critically evaluate the research. 6. Demonstrate the successful completion of the research in a well-structured and coherently written dissertation. 7. Disseminate the research to the wider research community as appropriate.
