Requisites:
Learning Outcomes: After successfully completing this unit the student will be able to:
* Design, critically appraise and validate robotic systems hardware and platforms (EP4, ET1, ET6, DF1, DF2)
* Compare, contrast and evaluate practical robotic platform design techniques and technologies (EP1,EP2, ET5, SM1)
* Use a range of established and new techniques to design robotic platforms (EP3, DF3, EA1, EA2, SM2, SM3)

Aims: To introduce students to the key elements of robotics platform design.
To introduce key concepts in understanding, designing and critically appraising robotics systems.
To provide key skills in implementing robotic hardware systems.

Content: Land based Robotic Platforms such as tracks and wheels,
Marine based robotic platforms
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) s such as multi-rotor and fixed wing platforms
Autopilot hardware with positioning sensors to provide basic control of robotics hardware.
