Learning Outcomes: After taking this unit the student should be able to:
* Describe the vehicle design process and postulate how this will change in the future.
* Contrast different automotive technologies, design processes and manufacturing methods
* Interpret different literature sources relevant to the field of automotive technology
* Examine how innovation and technology will contribute to the transition to net zero mobility


Aims: To provide knowledge relating to vehicle design and an understanding of the operation and performance of the important sub-systems in the context of the transition to zero impact mobility.

Skills: Problem solving; literature searching; working independently; trend analysis; data analysis with incomplete or uncertain information

Content: Vehicle context and connectivity; Vehicle design and development process; vehicle sub-systems; manufacturing processes; Regulation and vehicle impact evaluation including LCA.
