You pay tuition fees at the beginning of each year. The fee rates depend on your fee status, not your mode of study. If you are an EU national starting in September 2023 your fee status may be Home or Overseas, depending on your circumstances.
Tuition fees are liable to increase annually for all University of Bath students.
You should also budget for extra costs in addition to your tuition fees.

If you aren't paying your fees in British pounds, you should also budget for possible fluctuations in your own currency.

You will normally pay a reduced tuition fee instead of the full year fee while on a placement period or studying abroad.

Thick sandwich placement fees for the 2026/27 academic year
A thick sandwich placement means you are away from the University working or studying for at least one continuous academic year.

For international work placements, the outcome of applications for Turing funding will not normally be confirmed until after the start of the placement year. Therefore, all students on international work placements will initially be charged the higher amount. If successful, applicants will receive a partial rebate once their Turing status is known.
