International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme
We consider applicants studying the IBCP on a case-by-case basis based on the individual components studied. To be considered for this course you will need to study at least one science at Higher Level alongside other IB Higher Level subjects or vocational study equivalent to two A levels. This vocational study can be any qualification we accept, such as a BTEC National Diploma (RQF) or two BTEC National Extended Certificates (RQF).
Your IB courses and vocational study must include sufficient study across the whole of one combination listed in the IB Diploma section. If Mathematics is part of your chosen combination you must study either HL Mathematics or SL Mathematics: Analysis & Approaches. See our Pearson Edexcel BTEC (RQF) requirements for guidance on suitable vocational study.
Our typical offer will including individual grades in the relevant components - please contact admissions@bath.ac.uk for further advice before you apply.
Pearson Edexcel BTEC RQF
Typical offer
D*DD plus A at A level

We are able to consider the above qualifications in Applied Science alongside an A level in Mathematics. Your BTEC qualification must have an appropriate combination of Chemistry, Biology and Physics content to prepare you for the course. Please see the entry requirements section above for guidance on subject combinations and options available to you on course, and contact us to discuss your units before making an application.
See the ‘Combinations of qualifications’ section for information about combinations of A level and BTEC qualifications that we can consider.

T levels are not considered suitable preparation for this degree programme and are therefore not accepted for entry. If you require advice on how you may academically prepare to study this degree or present with a mix of qualifications, you should contact our Admissions Progression Team at admissions-progression@bath.ac.uk.

This information is a guide and all students applying with Open University Credits will be considered on a case-by-case basis. We will consider your application carefully and take note of any previous qualifications or relevant work experience. We may be able to consider alternative units to those listed. Please contact us to discuss your profile.
Taking OU credits may be counted as degree-level study by the Student Loans Company and therefore may be counted as previous study and have an impact on your ability to access student loans for the entirety of your chosen degree. We recommend that you discuss this in detail with the SLC before following this progression route to the University of Bath.
Combinations of qualifications
Typical offer
Your application will be considered individually based on the particular combination of qualifications and subjects that you are taking. We can consider mixed combinations of accepted qualifications (such as A levels, Cambridge Pre-Us, College Board APs or IB Higher Level Certificates) providing you are studying a suitable combination of mathematics and core sciences.
If you are studying a combination of different qualifications please contact admissions@bath.ac.uk before you apply to discuss your options with us.
