Are you curious about e-scooters but unsure where to start? BikeWorks in partnership with Dott (formerly TIER), a leading e-scooter company, is offering staff and students free e-scooter skill training sessions. Whether you're completely new to e-scooters or just looking to brush up on your skills, these sessions are a fantastic way to get started.

Why join an e-scooter session?

E-scooters are a convenient, eco-friendly and fun way to travel. It is important to ride safely and confidently. These introduction sessions are designed for beginners, providing a supportive environment where you can learn at your own pace.

What will you learn?

The sessions focus on essential 'off-road skills' so you're ready to e-scooter safely:

  • unlocking and starting: learn how to unlock an e-scooter and start to ride smoothly
  • balancing and steering: gain confidence in maintaining balance and steering
  • signalling: master the art of signalling your intentions to other road users
  • hazard awareness and avoidance: develop the skills needed to identify and avoid potential hazards

Session details

There are two sessions available.

  • Friday 25th October 10am - 12pm

  • Friday 25th October 1pm - 3pm

E-scooters and helmets are provided.

Eligibility

To take part in the e-scooter training you must be 18 or older and hold a provisional driving licence.
