Since we launched our Research Culture Action Plan in December last year, we’ve been working collaboratively across the University to deliver against the actions you felt would have the greatest impact on our research culture.
This session will provide updates on what’s been achieved by different departments across the university so far, including:
- preparation for the launch of Bath’s Researcher Academy to support the career and professional development of research staff at every stage in their postdoctoral journey (led by RIS)
- reinforcing our commitment to assessing the quality of our research fairly and transparently by becoming a signatory of the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA) and reviewing our principles for Responsible Research Assessment (RRA) to reward a broader definition of research excellence (led by RIS)
- updating promotions criteria (led by HR)
- launching new Guidelines for Authorship & Acknowledgement in June during Research Culture Month (led by RIS)
- expanding the University’s Returning Parents and Carers Support Fund so it is available to all job families (led by HR)
Professor Sarah Hainsworth, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise), Professor Julie Barnett, Associate PVC (Research) and the Research Culture team will discuss progress, and set out priorities for the next six months and set out opportunities for everyone to get involved in ongoing initiatives.
Whether or not you work in a research-related role, we’d love for you to join us and contribute to the conversation.
