The Strategic Communications, Campaigns, and Social Media team:
- communicates messages to students, staff, industry and our local community through campaigns, content creation, and social media including our
- advises departments on social media best-practice
- leads the University's marketing communications for research and enterprise
- develops and delivers external campaigns, such as Research With Impact, to promote University messages around research and enterprise
Promoting your news on social media
We support staff in promoting their messages though the University's social media platforms. We also offer guidance and training on the use of social media.
Sharing your messages on the University's social media sites
We can support your messages through the University’s corporate social media channels and help colleagues by promoting their news and events on our Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, and LinkedIn profiles. We also run Chinese channels for international audience (WeChat, Weibo, Red Note, Douyin and Bilibili). In some instances, we may also be able to create content such as video interviews on your behalf or offer ‘takeovers’ of the University’s channels.
Advice and guidance
We can offer advice on how to create a social media strategy, methods and tools for creating content, and how to work with student ambassadors to develop content. Visit the internal SharePoint site for resources and guides to get you started.
Sharing your messages with other social media users at the University
The Social Media team previews upcoming news and stories in a monthly meeting for staff, including content that staff can download to use on their own platforms.
