• 21 October - invitations to ceremonies will be sent out to university and personal email addresses as held on SAMIS (Please save graduation@bath.ac.uk to your contacts to ensure our emails do not go into your spam mailbox)
• 21 October - bookings open for gown hire/photography and celebratory reception tickets
• 11 November - final Board of Studies for Taught students
• 23 November - deadline to respond to invitation. Students responding after this date are not guaranteed a place at the ceremonies
• 27 November - final deadline for Doctoral board
• 30 November - confirmation of degree ceremony ticket allocation email sent out
• 30 November - registration for additional celebratory drinks reception tickets opens (capacity dependant)
• 9 December - final Board of Studies for Doctoral Students
• 14 December - final date to order gown before late fees applied
• 6 January - email with degree ceremony ticket link sent out
• 8 January - deadline to purchase tickets for the celebratory drinks reception

Ceremony preparation checklist

Make sure that you have:

• Booked ceremony tickets for you and your guests using the link in the invitation email sent in October
• Hired a gown, (and booked official photography if required) through our supplier Graduation Attire once ceremony booking opens
• Booked celebratory reception tickets for you and your guests through our supplier Graduation Attire. Please note, the degree ceremonies and celebratory drinks receptions are separate events and require separate registration

Booking tickets for your ceremony and reception

Ceremony Tickets

Your ceremony takes place in Bath Abbey.

If you're eligible to attend a graduation ceremony in January, you'll receive an email invitation on 21 October explaining how to book your place. If you believe you're eligible but haven’t received an invitation by the end of October, please contact graduation@bath.ac.uk

The email will link to an online form where you can confirm your attendance and request guest tickets.

• You are guaranteed up to two ceremony guest tickets if you respond by the deadline.
• You can request up to four guest tickets in total—two guaranteed, plus two additional tickets.
• Additional ticket requests go on a waiting list and are randomly allocated as they become available, up to one week before the ceremony.

Note: Children aged two or under don't need a ticket but will have to sit on the lap of one of your guests. Children over the age of two will need a ticket.

Reception Tickets

After your ceremony, a celebratory drinks reception will be held at Bath Pavilion. Bookings for the reception can be made through our gown hire company Graduation Attire.

The reception is free of charge for you and two guests. You must book these tickets in advance, and before 30 November. After this date, if there is additional capacity, you'll have the option to buy additional tickets through the Graduation Attire booking system.

To bring additional guests, you'll need to pay:

• £9.60 (includes VAT) for each child aged 3 to 17
• £18 (includes VAT) for each adult aged 18 or over

Children aged two or under can attend for free and don't require a ticket.

Please note that ceremony and drinks reception tickets are booked separately. Reception tickets do not allow entry into the Abbey.

Accessibility or other arrangements for graduates and guests

To help your day run smoothly, please let us know if you or your guests have any specific requirements. These may include, but are not limited to:

• Sign language interpreters
• Wheelchair-accessible seating
• Mobility assistance
• Support for neurodivergent individuals
• Service dog accommodations

You can inform us of any requirements on the booking form. Telling us in advance helps us plan for any additional needs. If you are unsure of your requirements or prefer to speak to someone, please email graduation@bath.ac.uk to arrange an informal chat.

If you have told us about a guest with specific requirements, the ushers will have this information and will be able to help you on the day.

Ceremony live stream

The ceremonies will be live streamed to the University website for those that cannot attend in person.

The link will appear on the main Graduation Ceremonies webpage at the start of the first day of ceremonies.
