Receiving postgraduate maintenance payments
What you need to do to receive your maintenance payments as a new or current student, as well as the dates you should be paid.
How to receive your payments
PG Maintenance payments are paid quarterly in advance. To receive payment, you need to:
- be fully registered
- make sure your UK bank details held in SAMIS are correct
- submit your completed Postgraduate Maintenance and Stipend Agreement form to the Studentship office
Maintenance payments from sponsors are subject to signed contract agreements and income having been received.
Payment schedule
Quarterly payments are due by:
- 1 October
- 1 January
- 1 April
- 1 July
Returning Students
A notification will be sent to your University email address by 5.00pm on Wednesday 17 March 2021. If you do not receive an email or there is an error on the remittance advice, please email Studentships by 10.00am on Wednesday 24 March 2021. Maintenance will be paid into your nominated UK bank account.
Students who are no longer fully registered
Should you suspend, leave or transfer to continuation/writing up, submit or be no longer eligible for the payments for any reason; payments will stop and any prepaid maintenance must be repaid.
Strand 3 PhD Mobility (Future Research Leaders Scheme)
All students in receipt of the scholarship need to visit the Studentship office on level 3 of Wessex House room 3.44 the office is open 10.00 am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday.
Visiting students
As soon as you arrive come to the Studentship offices so we can arrange payment of your scholarship.
Outgoing students
Please visit the Studentship office at least 4 weeks before you leave to arrange your finances while you are away from the University of Bath.
Undergraduate Vacation Bursary
To receive the Vacation bursary please complete the Undergraduate BACS Maintenance/Stipend form and hand it in to the Studentship Office.
