Self-Issue Library books
Our members are encouraged to use the Self-Issue machines to borrow from the Library. This video demonstration shows how to borrow items using the machines.
Self-Issue is a self-service system, which will let you issue books to yourself whenever the Library is open. You will need a valid Library card, your 4-digit Library PIN and the books you want to borrow.
All borrowers are encouraged to use Self-Issue and you will find it particularly helpful for those times when the Issue Desk is closed. The two Self-Issue machines are located adjacent to the Issue Desk.
You can use Self-Issue to borrow books as long as:
- You don’t owe fines over £10
- You have not reached your loans limit
The loan limits are 30 books for University students and staff and 5 books for External members, Alumni and SCONUL Access members.
We have created a short video showing how you borrow items on both types of Self-Issue machine.
