Maria Bond Appointed by Council
Will undertake the responsibilities of members of governing bodies as set out in the CUC Guide for Members of Higher Education Governing Bodies in the UK.
Role
Maria Bond was appointed to the Council of the University of Bath from 1 August 2022 for a term of three years.
Career
Maria is a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. She trained whilst working as a Quantity Surveyor for the Allen Group.
Maria worked in Construction for the Morgan Sindall Group and the Rok Group as Commercial Director, Area Director before joining the acquisition team to lead the due-diligence and integration of new businesses.
Over the last 13 years Maria has worked as a Non-Executive Director within the Gloucestershire NHS, including merger two NHS organisations and managing COVID through 2020 – 2021, whilst also undertaking interim assignments based around Project Management.
Maria is currently Chair of Gloucester City Homes whilst also undertaking consultancy assignments. In addition, Maria continues to work for Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Trust as a Mental Health Act Manager.
Maria lives in Stroud, Gloucestershire with her husband, their three children and two dogs. Her interests include spending quality time with her family, walking her dogs, travel, construction and mental health. Maria is also a qualified riding instructor.
