Modelling across a range of photonic systems.
Our theoretical activities encompass linear, nonlinear, and quantum optics across a range of photonic platforms.

Areas of focus and strength of the theory and numerical modelling research programmes include:

  • Frequency conversion and supercontinuum
  • Frequency combs
  • Photonic crystal fibre
  • Microresonator photonics
  • Quantum optics and single photon sources
  • Soliton photonics
  • Nonlinear optics of 2D materials
  • Topological photonics

Research staff, students and visitors coming to work with us are fully integrated into the Centre and Department research and training programmes. We have access to supercomputing facilities, and are equipped with high-performance servers.

We collaborate internally in the CPPM and University, and externally both nationally and internationally.
