This safety standard sets out the University's arrangements to enable construction and maintenance activities to be safely carried out in high risk or high hazard areas. This would include workshops, laboratories and other areas where those carrying out construction and maintenance works may be unfamiliar with the range and the of hazards that are present.

The standard sets out the roles and responsibilities of people responsible for managing or arranging those works and the requirements on those who will be carrying out those works.

This standard was reviewed and agreed by UHSC in September 2022. It is next due for review in September 2025.
