Policy
The University's safety standard for working with ionising radiation sets out the University's arrangements for identifying, assessing and managing the general risks associated with working with sources and generators of ionising radiation. The standard also sets out roles and responsibilities of people responsible for managing or working with IR.
The generic risk assessment can be used to identify potential hazards and the means for managing associated risks. Departments are responsible for amending the template as necessary to fit the context of the work done under their control.
These documents were reviewed and agreed by UHSC in March 2024. The next scheduled review is March 2027.
