Permit to work safety standard

A standard describing what a Permit to Work (PtW) is, when one is required, and how a PtW system can be implemented.

Policy

This safety standard sets out the University's arrangements to enable high risk construction and maintenance activities or controlled activities (such as accessing restricted areas) to be safely carried out by using a Permit to Work System. The standard sets out the roles and responsibilities of people responsible for managing, implementing and delivering works carried out under a Permit to Work.

This standard was reviewed and agreed by UHSC in September 2022. It is next due for review in September 2025.
