The AFF comprises two world-class facilities for the fabrication of optical fibres and the fabrication and manufacture of nano- and micro-scale structures.

A multi-user facility providing protein expression and purification services to researchers across the University and beyond.

Our open-to-the-elements facility offers a platform for research into novel and innovative building materials, technologies and constructive systems. ​

We provide a comprehensive material and chemical characterisation service. We work with the commercial sector and internal and external research institutions.​

The Dynamic Reaction Monitoring (DReaM) Facility combines several analytical techniques to monitor liquid-phase chemical reactions in real-time.

We enable users to image samples in a variety of ways. Our services span bioimaging, flow cytometry, electron microscopy, molecular spectroscopy and metrology.

We offer the ability to determine a large range of the physical properties of materials using a range of cutting-edge technologies.

We enable researchers at Bath to do their best work, whether that's through operational details or developing vision and strategy.
