Macro, Money and Finance Research Group

Our members explore economic aggregates, including employment, inflation, economic growth, and the role of money, as well as financial markets and banking.

Who we are

Our group’s research focuses on the analysis of economic aggregates. We cover areas like employment, inflation, economic growth, and the use of currency, as well as banking and finance.

We use both state-of-the-art theoretical models, which emphasise rigorous analysis, and empirical approaches, which seek to analyse data using novel and imaginative techniques to deliver insights that inform debates around current policy issues.

Macroeconomics Network in the South West

Our members contribute to the Macroeconomics Network in the South West, which runs annual workshops.

These events are designed to promote important work from the universities of the South West (Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Southampton, and Surrey); create research ties and foster collaboration; and give a platform to exchange feedback on contemporary macroeconomic research.
