Students taking part in an Employment skills discussion
Develop your fluency and confidence in English for Employment

The 5-week English for Employment course is for all undergraduate and postgraduate students who want to improve their professional language skills.

The course aims to build your professional skills, with a focus on speaking skills and intercultural awareness. It uses a blend of interactive pre-class self-access materials and in-class activities to activate your learning.

You will:

  • gain greater confidence navigating intercultural communication, especially in relation to minimising barriers to communication.
  • learn how to contribute, give opinions, disagree politely, and ask and answer questions in a way that will make it easy for you to be understood.
  • improve your presentation skills, which are vital in the workplace.
  • receive a certificate upon successfully completing all five sessions.

Note, if you want to develop your vocabulary, grammar, reading, listening, speaking and writing skills, we also run a separate General English course each semester.
