A first or strong second-class undergraduate degree (or equivalent) is required, in a programme that incorporates a strong element of both mathematics and computing.
Specific degree subjects compatible with these criteria might be:
- Computer science
Any such degree programme should have included some non-trivial element of programming instruction. The Statistics MSc will not be suitable for students with a strong statistics component in their undergraduate degree as there will be substantial overlap in the content.
There are other degree programmes, for example geography or biology, which might also meet the criteria depending on their specific mathematical and programming content.
We may make an offer based on a lower grade if you can provide evidence of your suitability for the degree.
You will also need to have studied mathematics to at least A level standard or an international equivalent.
If your first language is not English but within the last 2 years, you completed your degree in the UK, you may be exempt from our English language requirements.
