Assessment and feedback
The QA Code of Practice and University Rules and Regulations cover all aspects of the assessment process including:
- assessment strategies, the setting of assessment, marking and grading descriptors, submission of late coursework, and feedback (QA16);
- examination schedules, preparation of exam papers, processes on the day of the exam, and invigilation (QA28 and Rule 2). The Examinations Office provides information and advice on all aspects of the exam process including guidance for invigilators and arrangements for students with special requirements.
- the University's common assessment framework covering the structure and weighting of programmes, assessment procedures and decision-making (New Framework for Assessment (NFA). Processes for those programmes not covered by the NFA are set out in QA35);
- Individual Mitigating Circumstances;
- examination and assessment offences including the requirement for all students to undertake the Academic Integrity Training and Test;
- the appointment and role of External Examiners;
- processes for accrediting prior learning.
