Wellbeing Assessment Research Project

Dates and costs

The unit is for:

Professionals who would like the opportunity to develop a more in depth understanding of wellbeing in a specific context through designing and undertaking a piece of practical research.

The unit involves:

  • Writing a 500 word proposal outlining the project to be undertaken for approval by the Convenor.
  • Producing a detailed research plan, describing in more detail the problem to be addressed and the methods to be used in doing so.
  • Piloting key elements of the methodology and producing a revised plan incorporating the learning from piloting.
  • Writing a 5,000 word report on the research’s key findings and the methodological learning that took place with respect to wellbeing assessment.

Unit content

  • To identify an organisational, programme or project context suitable for the application of wellbeing assessment;
  • To demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the techniques necessary to design, carry out and report on a research project to assess wellbeing within that context;
  • To demonstrate the ability to reflect critically on the approach adopted and the findings of the analysis undertaken.

Qualifications

The unit carries 12 credits and can build towards a University of Bath degree qualification:

  • Postgraduate Certificate (30 credits)
  • Diploma (60 credits)
  • MSc (90 credits)
