The Modular Framework
The modular framework describes the way in which the University's taught programmes (and their component parts) are put together. All programmes offered by the University are expected to comply with the modular framework unless specific exemption has been granted by the Quality Assurance Committee.
Below are links to some pages which help to explain the modular framework:
- Annex A, Section 2 of QA3 in the Quality Assurance Code of Practice lays out the principles of the University's Academic Framework.
- Specific information on the construction of programmes within the modular framework can be found with the programme and unit catalogues.
- Detailed information on the use of year-long units in programmes can be found here.
- Timings of semesters within each academic year can be found in the Academic Year Charts.
