We are delighted that Research Software Engineer, Dr Evgeniya Malikova, has been selected for the new University of Bath Fellowship Academy.
The programme supports rising star researchers from across campus who have a clear potential to become world-leading academics within their field.
Evgeniya is one of just 18 people to be awarded a place on the newly established fellowship programme. Over the next 10 months, Research and Innovation Services (RIS) will help participants develop their research vision and successful research fellowship applications to accelerate their academic careers.
Cutting-edge solution for simulation, forecasting, and scheduling
Dr Malikova, who joined Research Computing last summer, works on the 4MOST consortium research project (4-metre Multi-Object Spectroscopic Telescope).
The international consortium, which includes many prestigious research organisations, is designing a new fiber-fed spectroscopic survey facility capable of surveying a large fraction of the southern sky.
Evgeniya is working alongside colleagues in the University’s Astrophysics Group as a member of the Operation Systems team.
The Bath research group is designing a cutting-edge solution to facilitate complex front-end (i.e. observation preparations) tasks, including simulation, forecasting, and scheduling.
Dr Malikova said: “ I am delighted to be selected for this program. I hope the Bath Fellowship Academy will boost my professional and academic skills and allow me to build a research career in HPC visualisation.“
